Steven Y. H. Lim
Steven is an arbitrator and advocate. He has more than 25 years’ experience in international dispute resolution and arbitration in Asia. Steven has sat as presiding, sole, co-arbitrator and emergency arbitrator and has also appeared as lead counsel in international arbitrations.
He has extensive experience with disputes involving Asia-Pacific jurisdictions including Singapore, India, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, US and Australia.
He has experience with a broad range of commercial disputes covering private equity investments, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, agency, licensing, hotel management, coal, mineral, agricultural commodities and trading contracts, oil and gas (sale and transportation of gas, production sharing contracts), energy (power purchase agreements, long term utilities supply contracts), refund guarantees, performance bonds, offshore engineering, ship and rig building, and construction.
He is a panel arbitrator with the SIAC, HKIAC, ICDR, KCAB, AIAC and THAC and has also sat in ICC, SCMA, LMAA, UNCITRAL Rules and ad hoc cases. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators and is a Director of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Singapore Branch.
